Pearl Abyss released Crimson Desert patch 1.16.00 on August 1, 2026 across all platforms — Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store, with the Mac App Store version still in progress. The update is the game’s most significant economic overhaul to date, adding 133 new trading posts, 7 wagon workshops across Pywel, 28 new types of trade goods, and a redesigned banking system with a new Bond Shop. Below — all changes and what they mean for active players.
Crimson Desert 1.16.00 — Trading and Economy Overhaul
What the update adds: trading posts, goods, and wagon workshops
- 133 new trading posts — including the merchant at the Pailune Trading Post. New posts unlock by progressing related quests. Prices shift dynamically when too many goods are sold at a single location, so spreading your routes pays off.
- Remote-location profit bonus — trading posts that are hard to reach by wagon now offer higher payouts. The further and harder the route, the better the margin.
- Royal trading post prices quadrupled — previously underused, royal posts are now a primary target for high-value loads. Wagons no longer disappear after delivering goods there.
- 28 new trade goods — 24 high-value types and 4 regular types added to the pool. Packaged goods now stack up to 10 or 100 per slot depending on price tier; unpackaged goods stack up to 5 or 50 per slot.
- Single-unit selling enabled — you can now sell even one trade good without needing a full stack. Trade goods can also be moved directly between your wagon and horse inventory.
- 7 wagon workshops added — located in Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Tommaso, Urdavah, and Varnia. These serve as intermediate trading posts where you can package and load goods.
- Trade tab added to the map — shows all trading posts, royal trading posts, wagon workshops, and wagon routes. Filter by trade good type, check market prices from any post’s detail view, and spot event-affected merchants via special markers.
- Wagon routes now appear on the minimap while riding.
What the update adds: banking and the Bond Shop
- Bank interest cap adjusted to 40 gold bars — the maximum gained or lost per cycle is now capped at 40 gold bars, giving more predictable returns on deposits.
- Claim Bank Strongbox unlocked via bonds — deposit 10 or more bonds to start investing. Each bond is exchangeable for 10 Gold Bars.
- Bond Shop added — spend accumulated bonds on rare items not available through standard trade routes.
Why this matters: context for the changes
Earlier patches built the infrastructure for this moment — warehouse expansions, bank timer fixes, and new mount options gradually pushed Crimson Desert toward a more sandbox-style economy. Patch 1.16.00 is where that groundwork pays off: trading is now a viable primary playstyle rather than an occasional side activity. The dynamic pricing system, remote-location bonuses, and fourfold royal post multiplier create genuine route strategy decisions rather than a single optimal loop.
Pearl Abyss has been iterating on live-service economy design across its titles — similar in ambition to the kind of systemic overhauls seen in other live RPGs like Throne: Liberty’s horizontal gear progression rework, where a single patch rebalanced the entire player economy. The scale of 1.16.00 puts it in that same category.
What this means for Crimson Desert players
If you trade regularly: open the new Trade map tab immediately and scout the seven wagon workshop locations — Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Tommaso, Urdavah, and Varnia — as staging points for longer hauls. Prioritise routes ending at royal trading posts now that prices are quadrupled, and avoid dumping large quantities at a single post or you will trigger the new dynamic price reduction.

If you focus on banking and investment: the 40-gold-bar cap per cycle makes income more consistent but limits ceiling gains — stack bonds toward the Claim Bank Strongbox threshold of 10 to activate investing, and check the Bond Shop for rare items that would otherwise require heavy trade grinding.
If you play primarily for combat and quests: the loss penalty on horse and wagon retrieval has increased this patch, so be more deliberate about where you store loaded wagons before entering a fight — losing a packed load is now more costly than before.

Patch 1.16.00 launched August 1, 2026 on all platforms — 133 trading posts, 7 wagon workshops, 28 new trade goods, quadrupled royal post prices, and the new Bond Shop are all live now. Good luck on the routes.
